Collection Management & Valuation
Discover how to organize your growing collection and accurately determine the value of your raw Pokémon cards.
Managing Your Collection
Properly storing and organizing your collection is the first step to preserving its value. Always use penny sleeves before placing cards into top-loaders, semi-rigid holders, or binder pages. Keeping an inventory of your cards helps you track market fluctuations and ensures you know exactly what you own. When dealing with high-value cards, avoid ringed binders which can dent the cards over time, and instead opt for ringless sideloading binders.
Essential Valuation Tools
The value of a card fluctuates daily based on market demand. These are the industry-standard tools used by collectors to check current prices for raw and graded cards.

Valuing Cards with eBay Image Search
Not sure what card you have? The eBay mobile app makes it incredibly easy to identify and price check a card just by taking a picture. Here is how to find real, accurate values:
Open the eBay App
Download and open the eBay app on your smartphone. Tap the camera icon located in the main search bar at the top of the screen.
Snap a Picture
Place your card on a neutral background with good lighting. Use the "Trading Card" scanning feature to take a clear photo of the card, making sure the entire card is visible.
Filter by "Sold Items"
Once the app identifies your card, don't just look at active listings! This is critical: Tap "Filters", scroll down, and toggle on "Sold Items" to see what people are actually paying for it.
